香港政府観光局（ＨＫＴＢ）は16日、香港を５月に訪れた旅客の数（速報値）が前年同月比20％増の延べ407万8,938人だったと発表した。全体の76.6％を占めた中国本土からの旅客は19％増の312万3,593人。本土以外からの旅客は24％増の95万5,345人だった。
１～５月の累計は全体で前年同期比12％増の2,015万5,121人。うち本土からは10％増の1,518万2,478人で、全体に占める割合は75.3％だった。本土以外からの旅客は18％増の497万2,643人だった。
本土以外の国・地域では、１～５月は台湾、日本、韓国、インドネシア、フィリピンからの増加率がいずれも25％を超えた。オーストラリアは35％を超える伸びとなった。
