インドネシア運輸省は、８月28日に開業したジャカルタ首都圏の軽量軌道交通（ＬＲＴ）の乗客数が、９月６日夕までで33万1,947人だったと発表した。開業後10日間の１日当たりの平均乗客数は３万人以上を記録した。
ブディ運輸相は開業前の７月、少なくとも14万人近くの市民がこれまでの自家用車での移動から首都圏ＬＲＴに切り替えるとの期待を示していた。
利用を促す一環として、９月末までは最高額２万7,400ルピア（約261円）の運賃を一律5,000ルピアに設定している。
