韓国・現代自動車のインド子会社ヒュンダイ・モーター・インディア（ＨＭＩＬ）は１日、西部マハラシュトラ州プネ近郊のタレガオン工場で乗用車の生産を開始したと発表した。生産能力は年17万台となる。
ＨＭＩＬは６月に同工場で乗用車のエンジンの生産を始めている。タレガオン工場はもともと、米系ゼネラル・モーターズ・インディアが運営していた。ＨＭＩＬは2023年にゼネラル・モーターズ・インディアと同工場の売買契約を締結。昨年１月に買収を完了した。
