京畿道議会は20日、地下鉄の基本料金150ウォンの引き上げの内容を盛り込んだ意見聴取案を可決した。残る行政手続きである京畿道消費者政策委員会の可決も有力で、首都圏での値上げは確実視されている。
首都圏では公共交通機関の乗り換え割引制度が導入されており、同事業に含まれるソウル市と京畿道、仁川市、韓国鉄道公社（ＫＯＲＡＩＬ）は地下鉄の基本料金の引き上げを推進してきた。京畿道で行政手続きが完了すれば、６月までに首都圏全体の料金を同時に引き上げることが可能となる。
